Ecometal Ltd. was founded in 1999. The target was to build up in Estonia one modern lead battery and accumulators recycling plant that will reach the high standards required by local and European environmental authorities and customers. This was also part of the Governmental Environmental activity plan for years 2001-2004. The plant is built in Sillamäe, Estonia. This area has well developed infrastructure and industrial base in order to recruit the relevant employees.

The plant started production in autumn 2003. Total production capacity is up to 20 000 tons of old lead batteries annually. Recycled batteries are collected mainly in Baltic states and Finland. The products of the company are:

The battery acid is neutralized.

Our target is to give our contribution into environment protection of the Baltic countries by collecting the old batteries from the market end recycle them into the high quality raw material that will reach the quality requirements of our customers and partners.
